Emil Rodolfa teaches courses in Ethics, Supervision, Supervision of Supervision, and Research in the APA accredited PsyD Clinical Psychology doctoral program. His research lab investigates topics related to education and training, including “Factors Related to the Impostor Phenomenon in Psychology Doctoral Students” (2020, TEPP). He was lead author on “A Cube Model for Competency Development” (2005, PPRP), which helped the psychology profession develop models of competency useful in the education and regulatory process. In “Challenges to Psychology Education and Training in the Culture of Competence” (2019, American Psychologist), he examined issues of concern to the education and training community. He has been professionally active as President of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA), Chair of Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), Chair of the Council of Chairs of Training Councils (CCTC), and President of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) Board of Directors. Emil diligently chaired task forces to develop a competency framework for ASPPB, as well as a skills part of the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), to provide a clearer snapshot of the competency of licensure applicants.
Emil was founding editor of Training and Education in Professional Psychology and Associate Editor for Professional Psychology: Research and Practice. He has been awarded a number of acknowledgments, including the award for Distinguished Career Contributions to Psychology Education and Training from the American Psychological Association.
