Lisa Ferdinand, PhD (Counseling Psychology)

Assistant Director for Clinical Services, Counseling Center
University of South Florida, USA

Lisa Ferdinand was born in Jamaica and raised in Trinidad and Tobago before pursuing her undergraduate and graduate studies in Canada and the US. Her interest in supervision has consistently centered on providing diverse supervisees with multiculturally competent supervision experiences, as demonstrated through her provision of clinical supervision to dozens of graduate students, doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows; facilitation of group supervision and supervision of supervision meetings; and provision of administrative supervision to licensed individuals at various developmental levels. More recently, Lisa has been interested in exploring the administrative structures that support ongoing supervision (including deliberate practice) post-licensure, especially in busy clinical settings. Lisa is the Past-Chair of the Supervision and Training Section of the American Psychological Association’s Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP). She currently serves as SCP’s Vice-President for Professional Practice.

A fun fact about Lisa is that she is an amateur baker.
