As a member of Dr. Mike Ellis’s research team, Shangyun Zhou has been involved in research activities on inadequate/harmful/exceptional supervision, positive feedback bias in supervision, and is currently leading a study on the supervisory working alliance as it relates to supervisor relational humility and supervisee attachment. Though new to the practice of clinical supervision, Shangyun has been an instructor for counseling skills training for Mental Health Counseling master’s students at UAlbany, and is currently providing clinical consultation for the students’ practicum clinical experience. As an international student from southern China, Shangyun values the intricacies of diverse identities and is also involved in research/community events related to the well-being of Asian American college students and adults.
Last but not least, Shangyun is a karaoke enthusiast!
