Vera Chimbanda is a Doctoral Candidate and an adjunct professor in the clinical mental health and school counseling tracks at Northern Illinois University. Her research interests include cross-cultural conflict resolution, cross-cultural supervision, international counselors in training, social justice, advocacy, and multiculturalism. She has been a K-12 school counselor for Chicago Public School in Illinois and a clinical mental health counselor. She has over twenty years of international teaching, counseling, and supervision experience in three languages (English, Portuguese, and Spanish). Her clinical experience has been with individuals of various ages and diverse backgrounds. She also lived and worked in Brazil, South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Nigeria, the Ivory Coast, Swaziland; she currently resides in the United States.
